Scones (Cream Version)
High Tea
Ingredients:
1 cup | buttermilk |
1 | egg |
2 tbp | sugar |
3 1/2 cup | flour |
2 tsp | baking powder |
1 tsp | baking soda |
1/2 oz | salt |
1/2 cup | melted butter |
1/3 cup | currants |
2 | orange zests |
Preparation:
Combine dry ingredients in a mixing bowl. In another bowl, combine wet ingredients. Lightly work together. Roll out, cut and bake at 375°F for 15 to 20 minutes. To test, take one and tap the bottom -- it should sound hollow.
