Day 2 - Beijing
A comprehensive full day tour explores the rich historical legacy of China’s ancient dynasties. Begin the day with a stroll through the courtyards, palaces and pavilions of the imposing Forbidden City, once the exclusive enclave of Ming Dynasty emperors. Stand in Tiananmen Square, the largest public square in the world and the political center of China. Then visit the beautiful Temple of Heaven where you can try the “Whispering Wall” – a marvel of Ming Dynasty acoustical design. Enjoy a leisurely tour of the pavilions and gardens of the beautiful Summer Palace – built as a seasonal retreat for the Machiavellian Dowager Empress. Meals B, L
Day 3 - Beijing – Great Wall & Ming Tombs Excursion
Experience the thrill of walking on the Great Wall, an ancient fortification that stretches for thousands of miles across the rugged mountains north of Beijing. Then visit the Ming Tombs, burial site of 13 Chinese Emperors. Entrance to the sacred burial grounds is via the Avenue of Animals along which 18 pairs of huge stone figures stand guard. Meals B, L
Day 4 - A FreeStyle Day in Beijing
