Sweet and Sour Fish Fillets

Jiangsu specialty
 

Ingredients:
3 pieces of fish fillets
2 tablespoons sugar
4 tablespoons dark vinegar
2 tablespoons tomato ketchup
1 small onion
handful of fresh peanut
pinch of salt
1 tablespoon rice wine
1 tablespoon corn starch
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon five spices powder
1 egg
 

Preparation:

  1. Cut fish fillets into 1 1/2 by 2 inches pieces, put in a plate. Add a pich of salt, rice wine and egg white to the fish pieces and let it season for about 5 minutes. Blend in corn starch mix well.
  2. Put oil in wok and heat up for about 6 minutes. Put in fish pieces a piece at a time. Remove fish pieces to plate as soon as the surface turn slightly golden. With oil still in the wok fry sliced onion and peanuts. Add in rice wine, sugar, dark vinegar, tomato ketchep. Follow by fish pieces mix well and ready for plate.
     

Serve 4
